There are no two ways about it.  It’s time for us to have some well-deserved rest and fun on Pegu Club.

Since hauling Pegu Club out of the water on August 15th, we have had 39 weekends to work on her (including 8 long weekends), representing 87 potential days.  We’ve driven to Shenny on 60 occasions, visited Defender 18 times, taken 11 trips to West Marine, placed 8 orders with Sailrite, suffered through 1 trip to the DMV, and driven once to Cape Cod to pick up our Fatty Knees.

As far as boat work is concerned, since August 15th we have:

• cleaned every square inch of her (except for the bilge and engine “room”)
• scraped and sanded the bottom down to the gel coat and painted four coats of barrier coat and two coats of bottom paint on the hull
• removed seven chainplates and installed new ones
• rebedded four deck cleats, the bow and stern pulpits, all of the stanchion bases and made new backing plates out of 1/4″ and 1/2″ G10
• replaced all of the interior, exterior, and navigation bulbs with LEDs, and installed two bulkhead red/white LED fixtures
• removed an entire head system (including the holding tank) and installed a Nature’s Head
• replaced four thruhulls, seacocks, and backing blocks, and removed an additional four and fiberglassed over them
• mended our jib, mainsail, and sail cover
• sewn five winch covers and four interior curtains
• replaced all of the foam in the interior cushions (and mended a few)
• removed the pressure water system and related faucets, some old wiring, the shore power, the hot water heater, a cd player, cassette player, and speakers; and some some wet core
• fixed our Origo stove
• fixed the wire slap in the mast (we hope)
• removed the Cetol from the hatchboards
• installed new traveller lines
• replaced all of the water and drain hoses
• replaced and raised the exhaust hose
• installed a Whale hand pump in the bathroom and a Whale faucet in the galley sink
• replaced the bathroom sink
• written 31 blog posts

Whew.  Looking back it if feels as if we just hauled out yesterday while it simultaneously seems like ages ago.

Although we absolutely have more things that we want to do on Pegu Club, I am fairly certain that our future offseasons will not be nearly as busy as this one was.  At least they better not be.  One thing is for sure, they will definitely be shorter since a typical haul out date for us is in late October – not mid-August.
